In South Australia restricted to a small area in the Southern Lofty region. It is found in valleys and on hillsides, associated with <I>Eucalyptus obliqua</I> and <I>E. baxteri</I> in open forest. Soils: mainly hard acidic yellow duplex. Rainfall 800-1200 mm. Also Qld, N.S.W., A.C.T., Vic. and Tas.
