In the Southern Lofty region mainly in the Adelaide Hills area. Usually on rocky hillsides and amongst rocky outcrops in open forest, associated with <I>Eucalyptus obliqua</I> and <I>Eucalyptus baxteri</I>. Soils: hard, acidic, yellow-duplex. Rainfall 500-1000 mm. Also Qld, N.S.W., A.C.T., Vic. and Tas.
