Endemic to S.Aust., restricted to the Flinders Ranges (southern part) and also the Northern Lofty region. It grows on rocky hillsides and in gorges in open woodland scrub in association with <I>Eucalyptus odorata</I> and <I>E. socialis</I>. Soils; shallow compact loam. Rainfall 400-500 mm.
