Description:
Prostrate or ascending perennial, grey, with appressed woolly or curly hairs; leaves opposite, the larger with 8-10 pairs of leaflets; leaflets ovate.
Flowers to 5 cm diam.; sepals 12-15 mm long, silky; petals bright-yellow, 20-30 mm long; style conspicuous, 3-4 mm long.
Fruit tomentose, c. 15 mm long without the spines; back of each coccus covered with unequal subulate hairy spines 5-12 mm long, the longest sometimes 2- or 3-fid; seeds 2-4 in each coccus.
