Description:
Small shrubs of variable habit, with imparipinnate stipulate leaves.
Flowers in short axillary racemes shorter than the leaves; bract at the base of the pedicel; bracteoles distally clasping the calyx; calyx cupular, equally 5-toothed; petals red; standard oblong, folded, with reflexed margins, shorter than the keel; wings very small; keel acute, sharply folded, incurved, clawed; upper stamen free, other 9 united in an open tube; anthers equal; ovary stalked, glabrous, many-ovulate; style bearded along the inner edge and on the outer edge close to the summit; stigma terminal, capitulate, small.
Pod stipitate, bladdery, many-seeded; seed exarillate.
