Description:
Small shrub, c. 50 cm high, sometimes flowering under 10 cm high; branchlets slender, white or rusty with a rather loose stellate tomentum; leaves ovate and subacute, sometimes almost orbicular and subcordate at the base, 7-20 mm long, 4-15 mm wide, flat or somewhat concave above, upper surface glabrous with nerves somewhat impressed, lower surface greyish-tomentose with prominent nerves; stipules brownish-black.
Flowers in compound heads, 4-9 mm diam., almost woolly; floral leaves 2 or 3, orbicular, white-velvety above; bracts dark-brown, ciliate; capsule ovoid, almost glabrous.
Fruitlets membranous, without a suture; seed mottled.
