Description:
Low shrub with a grayish-green tomentum; leaves rather crowded or sometimes clustered, oblong-cuneate with 2 short obtuse parallel or divergent lobes, 8-12 mm long, 4-7 mm wide at the summit, margins slightly recurred, stellate-hairy on both surfaces and almost villous underneath, hairs generally not dense enough to obscure the leaf surface entirely, or oblong-linear, scarcely cuneate and notched at the summit by a reflexed point, 1.5-2 mm wide, slightly scabrous and with recurved margins, or entire, obtuse and rounded at the summit, with a closer tomentum on the upper face; stipules ovate to ovate-lanceolate, c. 3.5 mm long, shining, brown.
Flowers in dense heads; floral leaves 4 or 5, white-velvety, oblong-cuneate or oblong or ovate-oblong, notched or 2- lobed or entire; bracts ciliate; sepals silky with simple hairs; floral tube becoming glabrous; disk raised some distance above the ovary; capsule ovoid-oblong, c. 3 mm long, black, hard, almost glabrous.
Fruitlets coriaceous with a ventral suture; seed brown, glossy.
