Description:
Twiners or shrubs with flexuose branches; leaves alternate, linear or lanceolate, glabrous or more or less pubescent.
Flowers drooping, solitary or in few-flowered terminal corymbs; sepals free; petals blue, obovate, spreading from the base; staminal filaments free; anthers cohering at their apices, dehiscing longitudinally; ovary sessile, pubescent, 2-celled; ovules numerous.
Fruit a cylindrical berry, glabrous to pubescent; seeds numerous, verrucose.
