Description:
Ascending or erect few-branched perennial herb 30-60 cm high; leaves with petioles about as long as the blades; blades of basal leaves cordate or sinuate-truncate, usually with a slight contraction above the base, minutely crisper, c. 3 times longer than broad.
Lower flower clusters 8-15-flowered, only the lowest subtended by a leaf; pedicels somewhat thickened; valves 4.5-5 mm long, somewhat leathery, the central nerve thickest and often with a callosity near its base, with a distinct apical hook, with 3 or 4 hooked marginal teeth.
Nuts 2.8-3 mm long.
