Spikes single at the apex of each branch; bracts ovate, the hyaline margin widest in the lower half ciliate, the same hairs usually extending onto the non-hyaline portion of the bract, sometimes mixed with shorter stalked glandular hairs, apex acute; corolla externally eglandular hairy.
