Pseudanthus

Citation: Sieber ex A. Sprengel, in Sprengel, Syst. Veg. 4, 2:22 (1827).

Derivation: Greek pseudes, false; anthos, flower; because in 1 species, P. pimeleoides, the small flowers clustered at the summit of the branchlets resemble 1 showy flower.

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Description:
Heath-like shrubs, glabrous to scabrous or more or less pubescent or sprinkled with long spreading hairs; leaves opposite or alternate, small, coriaceous, obtuse, usually with thick margins and a prominent midrib underneath; stipules small, subulate or rarely with a broad base; monoecious.

Capsule 1-celled, 1-seeded; seeds oblong, smooth, carunculate terminally; embryo linear, the cotyledons longer but scarcely broader than the radicle.

Distribution:  Australian, with 7 species.
