Citation: R. Br., Prod. Fl. Nov. Holl. 360 (1810).

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: Thyme riceflower.

Description:
Erect dense dioecious shrub to 1.5 m, stunted or prostrate in exposed conditions, glabrous except for the pedicels; leaves crowded, narrow-elliptic to elliptic or narrow-spathulate to spathulate, 2-13 mm long, 1-4 mm wide, acute to obtuse.

heads terminal; peduncles 0.5-2.5 mm long; involucral bracts 4, elliptic to broad-elliptic, 2-6 mm long, 1-4 mm wide, acute to obtuse; pedicels covered with long coarse hairs; male flowers 2-17 in each head, 3-4 mm long; female flowers 2-10 in each head, 3-3.75 mm long, continued shortly above the ovary, persistent; perianth yellow.

Seed not known.

Distribution:  Scrub and woodland on calcareous soils.

  W.Aust.; N.S.W. Vic.
