Description:
Erect or straggling shrub to 0.5 m; stems covered with short fine hairs, often glabrescent with age; leaves glabrous, narrow-spathulate to spathulate or narrow-elliptic to elliptic or narrow-ovate, 5-20 mm long, 1.5-9.5 mm wide, acute-to obtuse.
Heads terminal; peduncles 2-19 mm long, densely covered with short fine hairs; involucral bracts 4, ovate or elliptic, 6.5-17.5 mm long, 3-11 mm wide, acute to obtuse, glabrous outside, covered inside often sparsely with short fine hairs; pedicels hairy; flowers bisexual or female, 12-52 in each head, creamy-white, 13-18 mm long; perianth with short scattered hairs inside, covered outside with short fine hairs and with additional long coarse hairs on the persistent base; circumscissile above the ovary after flowering.
Seed ventricose, slightly hooked at the apex, glabrous, black, foveate with the pits in rows.
