Description:
Small glabrous annual herb; leaves cuneate at the base, gradually narrowed into the petiole, with 2 free stipules.
Umbels simple, contracted to a dense ovate or oblong head; flowers sessile, usually bisexual; ring of calyx inconspicuous; sepals absent; petals white, concave, broad, blunt, slightly imbricate in bud; disk short and flat; styles short, filiform.
Fruit laterally scarcely compressed; carpophore absent; mericarps with glochidia, 5-ribbed, dorsal and intermediate ribs prominent, the latter sometimes almost touching those of the other mericarp and enclosing the deep cavities on either side of the very narrow commissure; vittae absent.
