Description:
Prostrate herbs or subshrubs with a tap root, pubescent; stems slender, radiating to 60 (or more) cm; leaves digitately 3-foliolate; stipules conspicuous.
Flowers 1-3 in erect leaf-opposed racemes; bracts and bracteoles small; calyx 2-lipped but not always clearly; hypanthium not clearly differentiated from the tube; petals clawed; stamens all joined in a sheath open adaxially, with uniform anthers; ovary shortly stipitate, 6-8- rarely to 10-ovulate, style glabrous, with a terminal stigma.
Pod stalked, compressed; seeds exarillate.
