Common name: Coastal lignum, (native)sarsparilla.
Description:
Stems woody at the base, climbing; leaves broadly lanceolate-hastate, obtuse or shortly acuminate, minutely crisped or serrate, c. 3 x 1 cm but occasionally to 8 x 3 cm; petiole 0.5-1.5 cm long.
Perianth somewhat succulent in fruit; sometimes monoecious.
Nut ovoid-oblong, c. 5 mm long and transversely rugulose.
