Description:
Dwarf shrub or undershrub to 25 cm high; stems ascending or decumbent, glabrous, becoming woody; leaves mostly opposite, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, entire, 0.5-2.5 cm long, 2-6 mm wide, rigid, glabrous or with a tuff of tomentum in the axil; apices apiculate.

Peduncles with 1-3 minute alternate leaves, glabrous; capitula solitary, c. 12 mm diam.; involucral bracts 2-4 mm long, glabrous, acuminate and recurved at the apex; receptacle slightly convex; ligules broadly linear, 4-6 mm long, pale-blue.

Ray achenes lanceolate, 1-2 mm long, brown, pubescent; pappus 0.7-1 mm long; disk florels many or sometimes absent; anthers 1.5-2 mm long; disk achenes cylindric, c. 0.6 mm long, brown; pappus of numerous free bristles, most c. 0.8 mm long, with 6-8 bristles c. 3 mm long.

Distribution:  In shrubland on sandy and gibber plains, often on temporarily wet sites.
