Description:
Small densely papillose succulent annuals; leaves opposite, spathulate to linear-spathulate, margins entire.
Flowers solitary, terminal, pedunculate; perianth lobes 5, unequal in size, 2 smaller with membranous margins; petaloid staminodes numerous, yellow; stamens 5-10; styles 5; ovary inferior, with 4 or 5 cells, placentation parietal.
Capsule opening when wet, valves winged, expanding keels contiguous; locule roofs very small or absent, placental tubercles 0; seeds numerous in each locule, triangular, compressed, minutely tuberculate, light-brown.
