Description:
Shrub 1-2 m high, glabrous except for the pubescent young shoots, bracts and hypanthium; leaves decussate, linear-lanceolate, 8-12 mm long, 1-1.5 mm broad, acuminate-acute, thickened and punctate-glandular at the margin; nerves obscure; petiole 1-1.5 mm long.
flowers in lateral clusters of 2-5 on a very short axis, subtended by a few rounded concave scarious bracts in 4 series; hypanthium cup-shaped, c. 2.5 mm long; sepals triangular, c. 1 mm long, with a scarious margin; stamens in bundles of 9-15, yellowish; claw 2-3 mm long; free parts of filaments 2-3 mm long.
Fruit smooth, subglobular, 3-4 mm diam., shortly toothed at the rim by the infolded persistent sepals, in clusters on old wood.
