Description:
Prostrate to erect perennial to 30 cm high, with a woody base; branches slender, woolly; leaves alternate, narrow-oblong to narrow-obovate, 5-10 rarely to 20 mm long, silky to almost glabrous.
Flowers paired, densely woolly.
Fruiting perianth cartilaginous to woody, more or less woolly all over; tube convex, 10-ribbed, c. 2 mm diam.; wings 5, horizontal, cartilaginous, broadly oblong, flat, crenulate on the margin, 1-2 mm long; upper perianth open in the centre, thick and hard, forming a discoid rim.
