Description:
Erect shrub, to 1 m high, dioecious; stems minutely pubescent; leaves sessile, linear to narrowly elliptic, narrowing towards the base, 10-20 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, minutely papillose, with a few short hairs near the base, flat, acute; interfoliar membrance minutely pubescent.
Flowers unisexual, arranged in cymes and further grouped to form leafy panicles; calyx c. 1.5 mm long, ciliolate; corolla white, c. 2.5 mm long, tube c. 1.5 mm long, internally thickened at the top to form a rim, glabrous except for a few hairs on top of the rim (often difficult to see in dried specimens), lobes glabrous.
Capsule 4-6 mm long, 2-3 mm wide.
