Description:
Delicate annual with 1 erect main stem up to 5 cm high with or without axillary branches each with a terminal inflorescence, glabrous or rarely with a few scattered hairs; leaves with a petiole 0-3 mm long, ovate-spathulate to linear-oblanceolate below the inflorescence, 3-6 x 1-3 mm, obtuse to rounded, fleshy, glabrous or with a few scattered hairs.
Inflorescence a thyrse with 1-many monochasia usually congested into dense terminal inflorescences; bracts leaf-like, linear-oblanceolate to linear; sepals scarcely connate, linear, c. 1 mm long, often unequally long, glabrous where free; corolla shortly tubular, slightly longer than the sepals; lobes oblanceolate-spathulate, white more or less tinged pink; labellum deep-crimson, apiculate, spathulate with 2 broad lobes curved inwards and with a subulate appendage recurved towards the base; column white; ovary globular, covered with long glandular hairs; stigmas erect.
Capsule ovoid, with basal seeds; seeds ellipsoid, coarsely pitted.
