Hibbertia paeninsularis

Citation: J. Black, Trans. R. Soc. S. Aust. 49:275 (1925).

Synonymy: Hibbertia sericea

Common name: Peninsula guinea-flower.

Description:
Dwarf shrub with villous branches, to 20 cm high leaves crowded, spreading-erect, subterete, mucronate, 5-6 x up to 1 mm, villous with long white simple spreading or somewhat curly hairs especially when young, finally almost glabrous, the revolute margins concealing the undersurface in part or entirely.

Flowers c. 10-15 mm across, sessile, surrounded by leaves; bracts at base of calyx 0; sepals lanceolate, rigid, villous on their back; petals yellow, slightly notched, scarcely exceeding the sepals stamens 4-7, on one side of the carpels.

Carpels 2, tomentose, with 3-5 ovules in each.
