Description:
Perennial rounded glabrous shrub to 1 m high; branchlets compressed, tinged red; leaves terete, minutely papillose, villous hairs at base, yellow-green, 8-62 x 0.5-2 mm.
Flowers in cymes; pedicels 12-15 mm long; perianth-segments yellowish inside, equal in length, 6-16 mm long (incl. ovary), free almost to the base; stamens clustered in 4 groups which alternate with the segments; filaments terete, papillose.
Capsules with 2-fid valves, 3.5-6.5 mm across; seeds comma-shaped, laterally compressed, minutely and densely papillose, dark-brown to black.
