Description:
Glabrous annual to c. 20 cm high, sparsely papillose; branchlets terete, striate; leaves ovate, spathulate or oblong, yellow-green, 7-32 X 2-10 mm.
Flowers solitary; peduncles 2-12 mm long; perianth-segments white inside, equal in length, 4.5-13 mm long, free for at least half their length; stamens numerous, evenly distributed around the ovary; filaments dilated at the base, terete above, papillose.
Capsules with 2-fid valves, deeply depressed at the apex, 4-5.5 mm across; seeds oblong, laterally compressed, distinctly ridged on the keel, light-brown.
