Description:
Erect perennial to c. 20 cm high, covered with peltate scales; branchlets terete; leaves lanceolate, bright-green, 8-30 X 2-4 mm.
Flowers solitary; peduncles 6-10 mm long; perianth-segments yellow inside, equal in length, 3.5-8 mm long, free for at least half their length; stamens numerous, evenly distributed around the ovary; filaments dilated at the base, terete above, papillose.
Capsules with 2-fid valves, 3-6.5 mm across; seeds comma-shaped, laterally compressed, ridged, dark-brown to black.
