Description:
Erect somewhat rigid greyish shrub 0.7-2 m tall, densely and closely tomentose with much-branched hairs; leaves mostly spreading, not overlapping or obscuring the axis, petiole 2-4 mm long, ovate to ovate-elliptic, 5-13 x 3.5-10 mm (rarely to 18 x 11 mm), with a flat or slightly recurved margin.

Flowers in discrete short leafy cymose clusters; pedicel 0.3-0.6 mm, glabrous or pubescent; calyx 2.5-4 mm long, the lobes 0.5-1 mm long; corolla 7-11 mm in total length, dull-white with purple striations in the throat, pubescent outside generally and inside at the filament bases with branched hairs; corolla lobes elliptic to ovate, 2.5-6 x 1.5-3 mm.

Capsule globose, 4-4.5 mm diam.; seeds brown, c. 3 mm long.

Distribution:  On deep sandy soils, commonly on sand dunes or localised sandy rises; usually on burnt or disturbed sites in mallee. Regenerates from the stem base following fire.
