Description:
Shrubs up to 4 m high, glabrous, or the young shoots pubescent or glaucous; leaves petiolate, 3-foliolate, the lower 2 leaflets a short distance from the terminal one.
Flowers in racemes, yellow marked with purple; calyx 2-lipped, upper 2 lobes united into a 2-toothed lip, not divergent; petals clawed; standard orbicular, about twice as long as the calyx; filaments of the stamens united into a tube round the ovary; the tube open along the upper side; anthers alternately longer and basifixed and shorter and dorsifixed; ovary on a short gynophore, 2-4-ovulate.
