Description:
Deciduous tree to 20 m or more in height, young shoots and leaves glabrous, dormant buds dark-brown; leaflets usually 5-7, rarely to 11 or even 13, narrowly lanceolate or elliptic, usually 5-8, rarely 3-9 cm long, 0.7-2 rarely 3 cm broad, sessile, serrate, base acute or cuneate, apex acuminate, juvenile leaves ovate, rounded.

Inflorescence axillary, many-flowered, appearing before the leaves; calyx and corolla absent.

Samaras elliptic, slightly twisted, 3-4 cm long, winged in the upper half.
