Description:
Multi- or single-stemmed trees to 10 m high; bark smooth, dull, grey, shedding in flakes to reveal a paler layer, some rough bark persisting at the base; cotyledons notched or reniform; juvenile leaves opposite to alternate, petiolate, elliptic to ovate; adult leaves alternate, on petioles 10-20 mm long, dull, grey-green, narrow-lanceolate to lanceolate, 7-14 x 1-2 cm; veins clear.

Flowers in umbels of 3-7 in the axils of the leaves; buds sessile or rarely on pedicels to 2 mm long, ovoid to obovoid, smooth, 7-10 x 4-5 mm; operculum conical, longer than the obconical hypanthium; flowers white; anthers all fertile, obovate.

Fruits ovoid to broadly obconical, smooth, with a broad sometimes raised disk, 6-9 x 5-8 mm; valves triangular, exserted; seeds dark-grey-brown to dark-grey, not winged but with an almost fimbriate margin, irregularly ellipsoid or angled, with shallow depressions.
