Description:
Annual herb to 30 cm high; stems ascending, weak, scabrous to subglabrous; leaves sessile in distant pairs, lanceolate, attenuate into a petiole-like base, entire, 2-5 cm long, 5-10 mm wide, scabrous with appressed hairs.
Peduncles in opposite pairs or solitary, naked, c. 1 cm long, unbranched; involucral bracts 8-10, ovate to lanceolate, 5-6 mm long, exceeding the ligules, scabrous; ray florets 9-11; ligules obovate, emarginate, c. 2 mm long, yellow; ray achenes c. 4 mm long, obovate, papillose or roughened, with 3 flat irregularly dentate wings; pappus of 2 or 3 connate spines to 1 mm long; disk florets 20-25, yellow.
Disk achenes 4-5 mm long, with 2 wings; pappus a crown of connate scales and spines c. 1 mm long.
