Description:
Delicate annual herbs with a basal rosette and erect little-branched inflorescence; leaves sessile, scarcely connate in pairs.
Calyx tube longer than its 4 lobes; stamens 4, with the filaments fused to the whole length of the corolla tube; anthers straight and untwisted; ovary bicarpellary, 1-celled, with thin deciduous styles with capitate scarcely 2-lobed stigmas.
Capsule included in the persistent corolla and/ or calyx.
