Description:
Perennial herb or undershrub 10-50 cm high; stems erect, branched, glabrous, rigid, becoming woody at the base; radical leaves absent; cauline leaves sessile, oblanceolate to obovate, 1.5-5 cm long, 6-18 mm wide, regularly serrate, the lower ones narrowed at the base, the upper ones subamplexicaul, glabrous, often minutely glandular.
Capitula in loose terminal corymb-like cymes of 3-7, c. 1.5 cm diam.; receptacle conical, naked; involucral bracts 15-20, lanceolate, acuminate, 4-5.5 mm long, minutely glandular and pubescent; ray florets c. 30, 2- or 3-seriate; ligules oblong, c. 5 mm long, yellow.
Achenes c. 2 mm long, slightly tuberculate, glabrous, wingless, pappus an entire scarious collar c. 0.5 mm long, inflexed at the summit, sometimes with a short smooth awn arising from the margin; disk florets sterile.
