Derivation: Greek botrys, a cluster of grapes; alluding to the arrangement of the sporangia.

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: Moonworts.

Description:
Perennial herbs, terrestrial; rhizome short, erect; roots thick and fleshy; fronds solitary, more rarely two, annually produced, pinnate, ternate or decompound; venation open, dichotomous; sporangia thick, free, short-stalked, transversely dehiscing.

Distribution:  About 36 species, cosmopolitan; 2 in Australia.
