Description:
Prostrate perennials sometimes with woody older stems, the younger stems with sparse to dense more or less septate somewhat villous hairs or becoming glabrous; leaves elliptic to elliptic-ovate, few-toothed, glabrous or with a few short rigid hairs, 4-9 x 1.5-5 mm.
Flowers solitary; sepals 5, ovate-lanceolate, acute or shortly acuminate, glabrous,' 3.5-4 x 1.4-1.8 mm; petals 5, narrow-obovate to oblong, more or less obtuse, 4-5 x 1.5-2.4 ram; stamens 10, c. 3.5 mm long; outer filaments with elliptic-oblong expanded bases c. 2 mm long; inner subulate; ovary ovoid, c. 2 mm long, c. 1.5 mm diam.; styles c. 1.5 mm long.
Capsules subglobose; seeds coarsely pitted, dark-reddish-brown to black, c. 0.9 mm long.

The description above is taken from Verdon (1981). Verdon recognised 3 forms of which the single S.Aust. collection belongs to his "form C, with very small sparsely toothed leaves, minute flowers and with inner and outer staminal filaments almost equally expanded".
