Description:
Shrub 2-3 m high; lower branches decumbent; leaves broad-elliptic; lamina 3-35 cm long, 3-4 cm wide; petiole to 1 cm long; bracteoles variable but with the valves appressed.

Distribution:  Often associated with heavy soils or flood plains.
