Description:
Annual herbs; stems prostrate; branches glabrous or pubescent; leaves glabrous or sparsely tomentose, oblong to narrow-obovate, 1-5 cm long.
Spikes globular or ovoid, 0.5-1 cm long, sometimes clustered, rhachis woolly; bracts and bracteoles narrow, acute, c. 1 mm long; perianth-segments lanceolate, acute, 2.5-4 mm long, densely woolly in the lower half, base and midrib hardened; stamens c. 1 mm long, staminodes 0; ovary c. 0.7 mm long, rounded or notched, style very short.
Fruit about half as long as the perianth, with thickened margins.
