Electronic Flora of South Australia infraspecific Fact Sheet

Family: Apiaceae
Xanthosia dissecta var. floribunda

Citation: Benth., Fl. Aust. 3:362 (1867).

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: None

Description:
More luxuriant than var. dissecta; leaves twice or almost thrice 3-partite, larger; petiole 4-5 cm long.

Rays of umbel 4-8 mm long, at their base 1 or 2 subsessile flowers without bracteoles; umbellules with 3-6 flowers; petals blunt and rather broad.

Distribution:  In lowland heaths, on sand.

  Vic.

Flowering time: Sept. — Nov.

Biology: No text

Taxonomic notes: It is probable that all S.Aust. populations should be referred to var. floribunda Benth. and that this is specifically distinct (X. leiophylla F. Muell. ex Klatt) from X. dissecta Hook. f. sensu stricto, which appears to be confined to N.S.W., Vic. and Tas.
