Description:
Perennial subshrub 10-40 cm high; stems erect, branched, produced annually from a woody stock; vestiture of fine white tomentum, dense on stem, less so on leaves, glandular hairs present; leaves flat to conduplicate, linear or narrowly lanceolate to spathulate, attenuate at the base, 1-4 cm long, 2-7 mm wide, entire, apices obtuse.
Involucres 7-8 mm long, bracts linear to narrowly elliptic, acute, tomentose; ray florets 2- or 3-seriate, purple.
Achene flattened, oblanceolate, 4.5-6 mm long; marginal ridges pubescent; faces with ribs all extending to the summit, densely pubescent with fine nonglandular and glandular hairs; pappus bristles multisetlate, barbellate, 5-7 mm long.
