Description:
Erect slender glabrous shrub often c. 1 m high; leaves linear, plano-convex, 4-7 mm long.
flowers in dense terminal corymbs, on pedicels 1-3 mm long; bracteoles enclosing the bud, caducous, often pinkish, elliptic to obovate, c. 2.5 mm long; hypanthium 2.2-3 mm long, glabrous or papillose between the usually conspicuous ribs; sepals white, ovate, each terminating in a digitate fringe of 3-6 hairs of which the longest exceed the petals, 2-3 mm long (incl. the hairs); petals ovate, white, c. 1.5 mm long; anthers red; style exserted; ovules 4-6.
