Triglochin mucronatum

Citation: R. Br., Prod. Fl. Nov. Holl. 343 (1810).

Synonymy: T. calcaratum Hook., Hook. Ic. 5:t. 416 (1842); T. neesii Endl. in Lehm., Pl. Preiss. 2:54 (1846).

Common name: Prickly arrowgrass.

Description:
Small annual with filiform leaves shorter than the scape, which is 2-10 cm high.

Racemes to 1.5 cm long, few-flowered, sometimes with only 1 terminal flower.

Fruits almost sessile or shortly pedicellate, invertedpyramidal in shape, c. 3 mm long; 3 fertile carpels truncate and free at the summit, each with conspicuous spreading tips.

Distribution:  Occurs on saline soils.
