Shrub 0.3-1.5 m high; leaves obovate-clavate, thick, 2-3 x c. 1 mm, sessile, obtuse or shortly acute-tipped; peduncles c. 1 mm long.
Flowers solitary or occasionally in pairs; hypanthium smooth or faintly papillose, cylindrical, often compressed-saccate, 3-4 mm long; ribs 10, irregular; sepals and petals orbicular, petaloid, pink, c. 1 mm long; stamens 5, opposite the sepals; gland of the anther connective very prominent; ovules 2; ovary in the upper part of the tube.
