Common name: Wertaloona daisy.

Description:
Short-lived perennial herb 15-50 cm high; stems ascending or erect, branched, woody at the base; leaves oblanceolate to spathulate, attenuate at the base, acute to obtuse, 1-5 cm long, 3-16 mm wide, shallowly serrate to entire, scabrous-pubescent on both surfaces.

Capitula pedunculate, solitary or in groups of 2-4 terminating leafy branches, with 50-180 florets, pink to magenta; involucre 1.1-1.7 cm long, 5-6-seriate, often surrounded at the base by an apparent whorl of 3 or 4 leaves 0.3-1 cm long; bracts slightly to densely pubescent, glandular, green or with purplish apices, the innermost ones glabrous; receptacle glandular, with deep fringed pits; female florets 4-many-seriate, with toothed ligules 3-6 mm long; disk florets 5-merous.

Achenes 2.5-4 mm long, 10-13-ribbed, sericeous; pappus bristles 20-35, 2-seriate, 8-10 mm long.

Distribution:  In a range of habitats including, sand dunes, gibber plains, clay flats and watercourses.
