Description:
Small delicate annual, usually 5-20 cm high; leaves filiform-channelled; ligule lanceolate.
Panicle loose, with capillary branches, solitary or twin, naked towards the base, the pedicels thickened upwards; spikelets 2-2.5 mm long, mostly 3-flowered; 2 glumes minute, unequal, membranous, obtuse, under 1 mm long; lemmas ovate, c. 1.5 mm long.
