Common name: Watercresses.

Description:
Annual, biennial or perennial herbs, some aquatic.

Sepals dimorphic; petals clawed; stamens 4 or 6; median nectariferous glands present.

Fruit a siliqua, dehiscent; valves convex, with the mid-vein faint or not visible; seeds in 1 or 2 rows per locule; radicle accumbent.

Distribution:  70 species with a cosmopolitan distribution; 3 established species and 4 endemic species in Australia.
