Common name: Red Natal grass.
Description:
Tufted annual or perennial, glabrous or with long often tubercle-based hairs; stems often geniculate and often rooting at the lower nodes, 25-150 cm high; leaves often flat, 5-30 cm long, 2-10 mm broad.
Panicle 5-20 cm long; spikelets on pedicels to 1 cm long, laterally compressed, 2.5-6 mm long, white- to reddish-hairy; awns to 4 mm long.
