Description:
Annual herb with cobwebby non-glandular hairs; stems terete, slender; leaves cauline, sessile, amplexicaul, entire, alternate.
Capitula small, axillary and terminal, solitary or paired, homogamous; involucre narrowly cylindrical, uniseriate; bracts 3, herbaceous, with narrow scarious margins; receptacle minute, naked; florets few, tubular, bisexual, fertile, 5-merous; anthers shortly tailed at the base, with lanceolate terminal appendages; style branches linear, with papillose subulate appendages beyond the stigmatic zones.
Achenes compressed, narrowly cuneate, with an attenuate base; pappus uniseriate, of large lanceolate scales tapering into stiff barbellate awns exceeding, the corolla.
