Leaves oblong, 1-3 x c. 0.8 cm, spikes to 15 rarely 30 X 6 mm; bracts (c. 2 X 1.8 mm) and bracteoles (c. 1.8 X 1.5 mm) glabrous; outer segments c. 2.5 X 0.8 mm, dorsal hairs 5-7 mm; ovary c. 1 mm long.
