Description:
Stems 30-40 cm tall, with a less dense indumentum, especially on the foliage; leaves greenish, to over 7 x 2 cm.

Spikes hemispherical, to 2 cm diam.; bract c. 5.5 mm long, including awns of c. 2 mm, usually very dark; perianth 7-9 mm long, purple-tipped, tube c. 1 mm long; perfect stamens 3.
