Synonymy: Trichinium incanum R. Br., Prod. Fl. Nov. Holl. 415 (1810); T. gnaphalodes Cunn. ex Moq. in A. DC., Prod. 13, 2:285 (1849).

Description:
Stems 20-60 cm tall, with a thick soft grey-yellow tomentum like on the foliage; leaves 1-5 x 0.5-1.5 cm.

Spikes pink and grey, semiglobose or ovoid, to 3.5 X 2.5 cm; bract 6-8 mm long, including awns to 2.3 mm long, dark-brown or pale-coloured; perianth c. 1 cm, tube 1.5 mm long; perfect stamens 3, rarely 4.
